Through this alliance, the companies will combine Kobe Steel's company-wide data analytics platform, "DataLab®" (*1), with SENSYN ROBOTICS' solution development platform, "SENSYN CORE" (*2). This synergy will enable the deployment of digital technologies across manufacturing operations—such as equipment maintenance, automated inspection, and construction management—to reduce reliance on manual labor and enhance operational capabilities.
Background and Objectives of the Alliance
The manufacturing industry faces common challenges, including labor shortages caused by declining birthrates and an aging population, as well as difficulties in passing on the skills of experienced workers. Consequently, utilizing digital technology to streamline and elevate manufacturing operations has become increasingly crucial. In recent years, expectations have grown around integrating previously hard-to-utilize data—such as equipment photos and videos captured on-site, inspection logs, and work records, alongside material and operational data—to transform operations in equipment maintenance, automated inspection, and construction management.
Kobe Steel is promoting systematic data utilization across the entire KOBELCO Group using its company-wide data analytics platform, "DataLab®." Moving forward, Kobe Steel aims to expand this initiative to a broader range of operational areas at manufacturing sites, collecting, storing, and analyzing diverse data to further accelerate DX implementation across the KOBELCO Group's manufacturing sites.
SENSYN ROBOTICS possesses deep expertise and know-how in providing end-to-end support—ranging from the collection, storage, and management of data (such as photos, videos, and inspection logs) to AI analysis and AI solution development—through its solution development platform, "SENSYN CORE." Going forward, both companies will collaborate on system integration with "DataLab®" and the identification of specific initiatives for advancing DX at operational sites.
