Basis Consulting and SENSYN ROBOTICS have been working since FY 2018 on research into the use of drones in checking the condition of structures in tunnels. This is characterized by field-driven implementation evaluation that begins with a focus on business analysis, rather than technology seeds-driven drone development. We have achieved practical results through thorough, field-driven research, such as examining use scenarios for drones and other robotics technologies, developing the most appropriate aircraft and imaging equipment for the job, conducting numerous on-site demonstrations, conducting training for customers assuming practical use, examining operation methods in underground spaces in compliance with laws and regulations, and reflecting the results in operational manuals.
