SENSYN ROBOTICS, Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takuya Kitamura; hereinafter "SENSYN Robotics"), which aims to fully automate operations using drones, mainly in the areas of facility inspections, disaster countermeasures and security monitoring, has confirmed the effectiveness of SENSYN DRONE HUB, a fully automated drone system, in automating security monitoring and patrol inspections at logistics facilities developed by Sumitomo Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Shigeyuki Hyodo; hereinafter "Sumitomo").
In recent years, the declining workforce due to the declining birthrate and aging population has become a major social problem, and there is a need to save labor in existing businesses. As part of its efforts to promote digital transformation (DX), Sumitomo Corporation conducted a demonstration experiment using a drone solution centering on SENSYN DRONE HUB, a technology owned by SENSYN ROBOTICS, to save manpower and improve the efficiency of security monitoring at its facilities.
Contents of the experiment
A demonstration experiment was conducted at a logistics facility in Kawagoe to confirm the usefulness of "SENSYN DRONE HUB" for security monitoring and roof inspection.
Verification of automatic take-off and landing
In the experiment, it was confirmed that the drone would automatically take off from the platform at the appointed time based on a predetermined route, fly exactly as the route specified in advance in the system, and then make a fully automatic and precise automatic landing. It also paused/resumed automated navigation at remote locations without any problems, confirming that it was capable of providing security monitoring of the facility.

Verification of the video transmission system
Two sites, SOSiLA Kawagoe and the Security Center, were relayed using a video transmission system to verify the video quality of the connection between the sites. We tested the ability to suspend and resume camera operation and automatic navigation from a remote location, assuming actual security monitoring operations, and confirmed that the system has enough functions to perform primary screening in security.
We were able to check the video in real time from a remote location.
Night Flight Verification
We flew a drone from the SENSYN DRONE HUB to check the status of the facilities in real time, assuming the security monitoring work at night.

Verification of roof and wall inspections
Patrol inspection of the facility: verified that the roof, wall stains, and blocked gutters were visible. Utilizing the scheduling and data link functions of the SENSYN DRONE HUB, a series of operations from data acquisition through drone flight to storage in the cloud were performed in a fully automated manner.
In this verification experiment, the flight was verified within visual range of the operator, and it was confirmed that all missions from take-off to landing could be carried out without the intervention of workers, confirming that the drone has the necessary functions for unmanned operation.
We plan to continue measuring and testing the effectiveness of the system in order to achieve fully automated operation in the future.
