The equipment management application "GEMBA Connect" provided by SENSYN ROBOTICS Corporation has been introduced on a trial basis as an application for patrolling and inspecting power plants and dam facilities at the Miyazaki Prefectural Bureau of Public Enterprises.

Currently, periodic inspections of facilities (meter checks, confirmation of abnormal noise, log checks, etc.) are conducted once a year by the person in charge of information and communication at each power plant. The power plants are located in mountainous areas and other hard-to-access locations, and it takes 1-3 hours for the person in charge to visit them. In addition, there was a problem in that the skilled personnel and the inexperienced members of the team could not communicate well about the facilities, equipment, fixtures, etc., using only words and drawings.
The Miyazaki Prefectural Bureau of Public Enterprises is aiming to improve the efficiency of periodic inspections, and as part of this effort, the decision was made to introduce "GEMBA Connect" on a trial basis to facilitate the smooth sharing of information among all parties involved.
"GEMBA Connect" is a cloud application that enables management and sharing of facility information and tasks for each facility and building. Through a chat tool associated with each task, it is possible to keep a history of interactions with related parties. In addition, tasks can be managed on drawings and 360° panoramas, minimizing site visits.

During inspections, we make house calls to the site, which can take from one to three hours. In the past, data could only be entered and viewed upon returning to the office, but "GEMBA Connect" can manage data in the cloud, making it easy to access and grasp information on each property even when away from the office.

Because there are many different types of equipment, it is difficult for inexperienced workers in particular to understand the names of individual pieces of equipment. With "GEMBA Connect," communication can be intuitive by pinpointing the equipment in a panoramic space, so it is easy to pinpoint and convey the meaning of the equipment, preventing miscommunication.

During on-the-job training, I feel it is easy to explain the location of each device and equipment at each facility and what it looks like using a 360° panorama without having to go to the site, and also because the information is organized by facility.
