Tokyo, Japan – January 14, 2026 – SENSYN ROBOTICS, Inc. has developed an application that provides centralized management of information for plant equipment inspections. The application is already in operation at ENEOS Corporation's refineries. We will continue to promote digital transformation (DX) in equipment inspection processes.

Background of Implementation

External corrosion inspection at refineries is extremely important for maintaining stable operations. For this reason, refinery inspection departments carry out inspection processes including visual inspections (primary inspections), detailed inspections such as NDI (non-destructive inspection) (secondary inspections), and repair work as necessary, based on laws and internal standards.

Previously, inspection results were managed at each refinery using tools like Excel to record the results and progress of visual inspections, as well as the necessity and status of secondary inspections and repairs. However, there were limits to data centralization and sharing, posing challenges for efficient operations. Furthermore, the high workload of onsite inspection tasks—where records were handwritten on paper drawings before being transcribed and compiled into reports back at the office—was a significant issue.

To resolve these issues, SENSYN ROBOTICS continuously visited the departments responsible for equipment inspection at various ENEOS refineries to understand the actual business flows and procedures. Based on these insights, we jointly developed an application tailored to their operations.

Features of the Developed Application: Consolidating Inspection Tasks into Drawings

The developed application centralizes information management for external corrosion inspections of plant equipment.

From the perspective of on-site recording, inspectors can use tablets to intuitively record inspection results and capture/attach photos directly onto drawings. This allows the recording process to be completed entirely in the field, eliminating the need for transcribing or finalizing reports back at the office. The recording procedure is completed in just three steps, and the simple UI ensures smooth operation for any user.

Changes After Implementation

The introduction of this application has reduced administrative tasks associated with creating records, allowing inspectors to focus more on their essential duties in the field. By sharing the same records via the application, inspection departments at refineries and partner companies performing inspections or repairs can easily maintain a common understanding, leading to smoother operations.

As a result, the application's use has expanded across various sites, with over 2,000 records registered weekly. This widespread adoption is advancing the sophistication of equipment inspections through the company-wide utilization of data. Furthermore, the application is being deployed for other maintenance and inspection tasks beyond external corrosion, such as open-vessel inspections.

SENSYN ROBOTICS will continue to contribute to the efficiency and safety of plant maintenance through the development and operation of software and other initiatives.
