Tokyo, Japan - March 12, 2024 -SENSYN ROBOTICS, Inc. in collaboration with Chubu Electric Power Grid Co, Inc., is promoting research and development utilizing robotics and AI to realize smart maintenance at substations. For the study of robotics utilization, we have adopted robots manufactured by Skydio LLC., and are conducting demonstration tests and durability tests under various environments. In addition, based on the operational know-how of Chubu Electric Power Grid Co, Inc., we have established flight technology that is highly reproducible within substation premises. Furthermore, we are refining AI analysis by utilizing SENSYN CORE assets owned by SENSYN ROBOTICS, Inc.

In the future, we plan to implement this technology in "POWER GRID Check," an application for power transmission facility inspection, and update the application to cover power transmission and substation operations.

In the course of this initiative, discussions were held with Skydio LLC, with whom we have a business alliance as a solution partner, on aircraft requirements for substation operations, etc. We will continue to collaborate and exchange information in the future.

Features of POWER GRID Check

  • Automatic inspection of steel towers and power lines in a batch
A single application can complete the inspection of steel towers (supports and girders) and transmission lines (overhead ground lines and power lines).
  • Can be operated with commonly available drones
Since general-purpose drones and cameras that are generally available on the market are used instead of special sensors, flexible operation is possible without depending on the manufacturer or model of the drone.
  • Data management function
Acquired data can be centrally managed in the cloud. This reduces the number of man-hours required for physical delivery and eliminates the need to post data to reports, thereby shortening repair planning.

We will continue to refine our advanced AI-based technology through ongoing research and development, and adapt it to the operations of general transmission and distribution companies in addition to power transmission facility inspection operations.
We value the opinions of our users and will continue to develop the implementation of "POWER GRID Check" in order to firmly establish its use.

About SENSYN ROBOTICS

SENSYN ROBOTICS is a leading company in the field of social infrastructure DX with the mission of "evolving the 'natural' in society. SENSYN ROBOTICS is a leading social infrastructure DX company that uses the power of AI and data to solve the problems faced by society and businesses.
We solve issues such as labor shortages, safety risks, and rising costs that exist in the social and industrial infrastructure that supports Japan and the world with software solutions for data utilization that anyone can handle, making full use of the latest technologies, including AI.
Utilizing the know-how gained from a wealth of projects and our proprietary software development platform "SENSYN CORE," we provide comprehensive support from consulting to scenario formulation, business feasibility evaluation, technology and system development, and implementation in actual operations. We will help realize a sustainable future by solving social issues such as inspections of aging infrastructures, a declining workforce due to the falling birthrate and aging population, and increasingly severe disasters.
