SENSYN ROBOTICS, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been selected as the only Japanese Qualified Team for the XPRIZE Rainforest organized by the XPRIZE Foundation.
The XPRIZE Rainforest is an international competition with a total prize pool of US$10 million (approximately 1 billion yen), organized by the XPRIZE Foundation, a U.S. non-profit organization, and sponsored by the ALANA Foundation. Participating teams are required to develop innovative and scalable technologies to study and monitor rainforest biodiversity in real time and use that data to deliver insights that promote the health and conservation of rainforests.
In recent years, the decline and degradation of tropical rainforests and the resulting climate change have been cited as global environmental issues. With the mission of 'evolving the "normality" of society through the power of robotics,' SENSYN ROBOTICS continues to take on the challenge of addressing the pressing social issues at hand. With this mission, SENSYN ROBOTICS continues to take on the challenge of addressing the specific social issues that lie ahead of us. We have decided to participate in this competition in order to take on this global social challenge, seeing it as an opportunity to take on this difficult challenge presented by the XPRIZE. Our goal is to develop a new tool to survey biodiversity in tropical rainforests by utilizing new technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence.
Thirty-three teams from around the world have been selected as Qualified Teams. As the only Japanese team selected for the Qualified Team, Team SENSYN ROBOTICS (formerly known as Team Robotics Japan) will do its utmost to meet this challenging challenge.
