Tokyo, Japan - December 18 , 2024 -SENSYN ROBOTICS,Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of its Robotics R&D Support Service. This service leverages the ELAS (Edge LiDAR Autonomous System), a system for autonomous robot control utilizing data acquired through LiDAR*1.

Background of the Service Launch

While the use of robotics such as drones in industrial applications like inspections and patrols is increasing, traditional technologies still encounter challenges in real-world deployments. Sensyn Robotics has already implemented numerous R&D support projects utilizing ELAS. Drawing on its extensive experience, the company has launched this service to further address the growing needs for research and development.

ELAS enables autonomous control and object recognition through modules equipped with LiDAR and cameras, functioning effectively in both GNSS*2 and non-GNSS environments. This system ensures safe and autonomous drone flights even in challenging conditions such as tunnels where GNSS signals are unavailable or around high-rise buildings with unstable GNSS reception.

Additionally, ELAS, being developed on an open-source robotics platform, is highly adaptable and can be integrated into various devices beyond drones, including unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and other robots.

Key Features of ELAS

  • Self-positioning in GNSS-deprived indoor environments
  • Detection and recognition of surrounding objects
  • Acquisition of surrounding point cloud data
  • Real-time tracking of robot positions for effective route planning
  • Obstacle detection and avoidance
  • Seamless navigation linked with maps

Details of the Robotics R&D Support Service

1. Workshops, Research, and Knowledge-Sharing

Customized workshops tailored to corporate needs provide knowledge and expertise on robotics technology. Business and technical research, along with workshops, help define research and development themes.

2. Prototyping and Demonstration Experiments

By leveraging the ELAS platform, the service provides an environment for prototyping and testing. Demonstration experiments using ELAS allow rapid evaluation of in-development technologies in real-world scenarios, identifying practical challenges for commercialization.

3. Support Toward Practical Application

The service supports the creation of roadmaps for practical applications of prototypes and offers continuous assistance. Based on field data analysis and evaluation results, Sensyn Robotics proposes phased schedules and resource allocations to solve technical challenges.

SENSYN ROBOTICS aims to expand its R&D support services utilizing ELAS while enhancing the functionality of ELAS and extending its compatibility with various devices. Through these efforts, the company seeks to promote the adoption of robotics across a wide range of industries.
